Tales from the Front In Wisconsin
We Are Watching You
Outrage, is how I feel.
In a sign of our Orwellian future, an 8 ½ x 11 mailing arrived on Friday, from the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund, a Democrat/union front group. On it there's a table consisting of five columns, with the headers: Name, Address, Nov '08, Nov '10, and June 5th. Within the table the name and address of a family member appears prominently at the top of a list that also shows the names and addresses of 12 other people on our street. Below the November 2008 and 2010 columns, it says VOTED for each individual, except for one neighbor, who did not vote in one of the elections.
The June 5th column is, of course, still blank. This mailing did not arrive in a sealed envelope; instead it’s a large postcard, readily available for any and all to see who voted and who did not. The section above the table contains the ominous wording; ‘Who votes is public record!” and then, at the end, “After the June 5th election, public records will tell everyone who voted and who didn’t.” The meaning is quite clear and threatening - we don’t know who you voted for, but if you didn’t vote, we know you did not support Tom Barrett.
The message ends with ‘Do your civic duty – vote.” They might have well said “Do your civic duty, Comrade – vote.” "Something wicked this way comes": Fascism in the form of Democrat Party brown shirt tactics arrive in Wisconsin.
Not only will your liberal neighbors know you did not bother to cast a vote for Tom Barrett, your union coworkers will know as well. Your friendly neighborhood union thugs will know, too; expect them to visit you soon.
Defeat Tom Barrett, the Democrat Party, and the union thugs on June 5th; or accept the fact that you’ll live under their yoke and their taxes for a generation. Maybe far more than a generation, as history shows that when freedom goes away, it does not come back soon or easily.
For any union thugs reading this article, don’t worry. I’ll be voting on June 5th, only not for Tom Barrett.
