Fellow Illinoisans, recently the General Assembly passed the “IL Dream Act,” aka SB2185. For some inexplicable reason the majority of Illinois politicians (61 House 50-D/11-R, and 45 Senate 34-D/11-R members), and Gov. Quinn believe giving money to the common criminal, oops I mean “undocumented” is the right thing to do. Our state is already billions in debt, and cannot afford to pay its bills, yet want to give away money to illegal alien families. Does this make any sense? Particularly when tax-paying citizens of this community are attempting to send their own children to colleges and universities but cannot due to the costs involved, but do not qualify or are skipped over scholarships and grants. Families across this state struggle everyday to make ends meet, making major sacrifices at home so a single child can receive a higher education. Even more struggle to retrain themselves for a new career, while at the same time sending a child to school.

            The “IL [BAD] Dream Act” is wrong for our state, and it is time to stand and let Springfield know we do not support it. Our failure to support this act, which Gov. Quinn intends to sign, goes far beyond the financial inability of Illinois to pay for the program. These children may have been born in the America, but even this is under false pretense, as their parents are here ILLEGALLY! There I said it. I am sick and tired of the whining left calling them “undocumented,” call them what they are illegal. No matter how you state it however, in the end they are criminals, and under Federal Law are to be arrested and deported back to their country of origin. I am sorry if their homeland is not as opportunity laden as America, but that does NOT give them the right to come into our nation other than that delineated by the law.
