President Bush Takes Action on Two Major Issues
Kudos go out to President Bush today as he has gone on the offensive on two of our most critical issues we face right now in America.
It was announced on Monday that Bush signed an executive order requiring all contractors who do business with federal departments and agencies to utilize an electronic verification system to check that all workers are eligible to work in the United States. Not only will this system snare people working who are in the country illegally, but it will also catch those who have overstayed visas and those who came here legally, but are not allowed to work in the U.S..
As a worker verification bill has stalled in the Democrat Congress, President Bush is to be commended for taking such a common sense approach to finding solutions to this national crisis.

Secondly on Monday, President Bush took the occassion of his departure for his final U.S.-E.U. summit to speak to the press from the White House South Lawn on the need for us to tap our vast domestic natural resources to help solve our expensive energy problems. Bush stated:
"The United States has an opportunity to help increase the supply of oil on the market," thereby easing gasoline prices for hard-working Americans," President Bush said on Monday.
He reminded Congress that he has proposed opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Continental Shelf to domestic oil drilling -- something that would "help us through this difficult period."
Sometimes it seems that life's most difficult problems have some of the most simple, easily attainable solutions. It makes you wonder sometimes, just how common 'common sense' really is!

Illegals to get tax rebates
In their bipartisan zeal to quickly cut a deal on an economic stimulus bill, GOP lawmakers overlooked something that will certainly inflame the conservative base _ illegal immigrants could receive a tax rebate check from the government.
Sigh.

Not yours
Got this from someone via email this morning and thought I'd share it. I'd say this pretty well sums up what some of the advocates of illegal immigrants, (and their sponsors in the Mexican government), need to learn.

Bad "Dream Act", back again
You can't keep a bad idea down, at least not in Washington. The whole amnesty thing is like some creature from a bad horror movie that you just can't kill. To make things worse, this time they're trying to tie it on as a amendment to the Defense authorization bill. Amazing. (well, not really). Check this out:
A policy analyst at a prominent conservative think tank says amnesty legislationbeing offered by Senate Democrats – in the form of an amendment to the Defense bill -- may be dubbed the "Dream Act," but in reality it is a "nightmare."
The measure sponsored by Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) would provide amnesty to any illegal alien who claims to have entered the U.S. before the age of 16. It would also award illegal aliens with taxpayer-funded in-state tuition at American colleges and universities. ...
Under this proposed amendment, there would be no age limit. ...someone who is 65 years of age could claim that they were brought to the U.S. while they were less than 16 years of age. ...
...the "usual suspects" are behind this so-called "Dream Act", the Council of La Raza and other such pro-amnesty groups.
From NumbersUSA:
The floor vote on the amendment containing the DREAM Act amnesty — new number: SA 2919 — may occur tomorrow. It will take 41 NO votes to kill this amnesty. Currently, only 20 Senators are telling their constituents that they will vote NO on the amnesty.
But it's up to us to try and KEEP this thing dead. Call your Senators and let them know how you feel. The Senate Switchboard number is 202-224-3121. Call now!

Come to our country illegally, and you'll get a snack pack!
From the lips of Nancy Pelosi-
"Every day from the day they arrive and throughout the contributions they make to our country it is a blessing to us. Indeed, I think just about every person in this
House and in this room certainly at this time is a product of those aspirations and dreams."
Let's get real!-
This is what Nancy Pelosi stated attempting to pass a law in Washington to allow illegal immigrants aid with food stamp and medical benefits. If Illegal immigrants contribute so much to our good economy, then why is it the democrats feel that the illegals are in dire need of contributions? Every time in my life that I have been working I have never needed aid with food stamps. Besides, if Illegals went straight to work and contributed so much they would receive cash far faster than any hand outs that social service's could provide.
It gets deeper-
What we are talking about today is really about fairness, fairness to our newcomers as our ancestors had anticipated and hoped for fairness when they came here. We talk about family values. Nowhere are those family values stronger than the immigrant community. We talk about living the American dream and aspiring for a better life. Those people bring courage to our country. They are a constant source of invigoration to our society, and I hope that my colleagues will support the amendment of the gentleman from California (Mr. Baca). A family of four with two wage earners making the minimum wage are still eligible for Food Stamps because the minimum wage is so low.
A shenanigan is a deceitful confidence trick, or mischief causing discomfort or annoyance-
Let's get real! I know that my ancestors came to this country with hopes for a job and to add to a promising economy. And as we call know our forefathers had a strong work value and would sacrifice anything they had before asking for a handout. Nancy Pelosi's plea to help the "illegal contributors" is simply a liberal device to create more government. With the addition of welfare seeking immigrants, it allows the government expansion of socials services. Thus, creating more dependence on the government and more excuses for higher taxes, that you and I the working man will pay for.

This article offers the history of welfare and the creation of it. If you read the article you will understand that welfare was the buffer that bounced America back in times of pain, hunger, and a loss of hope. That was also during the "great depression". This country in no way is in a depression era. I have yet to see anyone that is willing to work not have a job. While welfare had its place in history, we need to eliminate it and with that create a booming economy. The more people that work; the more people that vacation, shop, travel, eat at restaurants, and add to our economy thus creating a well needed boom. If people are dependent on welfare and food stamp programs, they simply lay around in their section 8 homes, and wait for their food stamp cards to recharge. It festers obesity, laziness, and drains social elements designed to help working natives. This also creates higher budget demand and a socialistic economy.
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THAT OUR FOREFATHERS CREATED WAS TO BE EARNED AND NOT RELIED ON FOR SOCIAL ELEMENTS AND HANDOUTS. ALL I CAN DO IS MAKE THIS CLAIM TO YOU NANCY PELOSI........SHENANIGANS!
