Saudi’s Say Iran Must ‘Pay The Price’ For Plot As The Obama Administration Fumbles
Saudi’s Say Iran Must ‘Pay The Price’ For Plot
The plot, or should I say ALLEGED plot, connected to Iran to kill a Saudi Ambassador is reaching its boiling point as the Saudi government is saying that Iran will have to ‘pay the price’ for their actions. There seems to be enough evidence to make the Saudi’s believe that this was a real and credible threat to one of their own, and they are not backing down. They are looking to Washington and watching what they will do and how they will handle it, but the President has a problem when it comes to any kind of retaliation against Iran.
Let us say, just for argument’s sake, that the U.N. decided to lay sanctions on Iran for this plot. Let us also say those sanctions would include a threat from the body that if anything like this ever happened again they would be open to military action from the world body and its members exclusively. Let us say all of that comes out of the U.N. (which I do not believe it will, but for the time being let’s pretend!) There is still a problem with them actually caring what the United Nations says. This is Saddam Hussein all over again, and the U.N. is going to push this box down the road as far as they can and we can rest assured nothing damaging will happen to the regime in Iran from that body. Just as they played games in Iraq before the U.S. invasion, they will play games with Iran because the body is made up of lying, cheating, sick individuals only out for themselves and could care less about their real purpose for even existing in the first place. This plan of attack is useless, but the U.N. will find it satisfactory. The problem is I am not so sure the Saudi’s will take too kindly with the slap on the wrist.
Of course, there is always the option of attacking Iran, something that the United States at this point in time is not looking to do. We already have anti-capitalist protesters out in the street, and adding the rest of the anti-war crowd with them will just make things worse before they can get better. Not only that, the President already got us wrapped up in Libya where there is no end insight, although I would probably guess many Americans have no idea we are still connected with that operation because the media rarely talks about it anymore.
The two choices here are simple: We attack Iran side by side with the Saudi’s (because you know they are going to hold us somewhat responsible for allowing this thing to get so far in our nation) or we go to the United Nations and allow them to hand out sanctions that will be laughed at by the Iranian government. That is not to say I believe we should attack Iran tomorrow, because I have been saying for years that Iran is a threat and they need to be dealt with as soon as possible. Today it was a plot against a Saudi in America, but how long do you think it will take for Iran to plot against an American citizen or someone of power in this nation? If it has not already been done already and we just do not know about it, it will happen at some point. The Iranian government is off their rocker and they need to be dealt with by someone, but the problem is everyone in the world is too afraid to go into Iran and take care of business. This includes the United States, which I believed would have taken care of this regime during the Bush Administration if it were not for getting into trouble in Iraq and having a media catastrophe that has lasted for years now.
The other question is why is this just being brought to the forefront now? The President was first told about the plot back in June (US Today), and one of the men arrested at the end of September. So why now we all ask? Why was this not at least news two weeks ago? One has to wonder how the White House is handling their business, and in some circles in this nation they will agree with the Iranian government when they say the United States cooked this up just like they cook everything up. The Iranians have already said they had nothing to do with it and it was made up by the White House because of the political trouble they are in. There will be individuals in this nation that fall for that and believe it. That is not to say ti has any validity because if you are going to believe the Iranian government you really have a screw loose. They are out for themselves and the world knows what they want, but it is about time the world took initiative and did something about Iran and the troubles they are causing. This needs to be the last straw before someone is actually killed by these monsters, and no one wants to see anyone get hurt by a regime that could have been taken care of years ago.
We know the White House likes to play politics with everything they get their hands on, but this is going a little too far. If I were in the Saudi government I would be incredibly mad that this plot could even be hatch on American soil, let alone that it could be started and money could be allowed to change hands. This is how they will think and this is why the United States is going to be at the front of this at the United Nations, because it happened on our soil. Yes, the Saudi’s will make sure their voices are heard, but the United States will have to stand up to the world community and get them on board with some kind of action against the regime. This will be hard because Russia and China are very close to Iran, especially the Russians. We will see if they are willing to step away from that partnership and jump aboard any kind of action that may be meant for the Iranian government.
There is also another part of this story that many in the MSM will not talk about. The Administration, along with the State Department, had a perfect chance to act during 2009 and also 2010 during the protests in Iran. We did not have to send in tanks or warships, we could have helped the Iranian people out in a much more covert way. This may not have brought the whole system down, but we could have at least got the ball rolling. We know we have the power, the resources, and the ability to get this kind of thing started, and now the Iranian people are looking at Libya and asking, “Why was there no help for us?”. No one seems to want to talk about this part of the story. We could have had a hand, along with our allies, in covertly ending the regime by arming and educating those who were in the streets that were looking for change. This is what happens when you want to make sure a government is overtaken, you make sure that there is money and resources available for those who are fighting that government. This happens all of the time and the United States have their hands in a lot of it, so one has to question what was so incredible about what was happening in Libya compared to what we saw and the words we heard out of Iran during that time when the President was first coming into office?
What we do know is that this is far from being over, and we have not heard the last of it. There are still many unanswered questions about this plot, that I should also say included the Israeli Embassy along with the Saudi Embassy in Washington, D.C. I have not talked about the Israeli’s at all, but this is also going to inflame them to take action against the Iranians, and they should be let lose on this regime once and for all. If the United States has tied the hands of the Israeli’s, they need to untie them and let them lose to end the repressive regime of Iran. If the people in these cities wanted to do something good for humanity they would stand up during these protests for human rights, something the Iranian people do not know. But they are too busy begging for more Socialism, so maybe they do not know about Iran and their people.
