In the midst of the Great Recession, we need to do everything in our power to get Americans back to work. Yet Washington politicians continue to create a culture of uncertainty in our economy. ObamaCare, Cap & Trade, and bolstering labor unions with “Card Check” legislation all cause small businesses to doubt their ability to make profits in the coming years. This prompts many companies to stop hiring or, worse, close shop and ship jobs overseas.
In short, the policies coming out of Washington aren’t improving our economy; they’re prolonging the recession, increasing unemployment, stifling job creation, and racking up massive amounts of debt.
Hey Guys,
Last night the voters of the Third District had a chance to see two distinct visions for our country. We had a good, civil debate and I’d like to thank WYFF and the League of Women Voters for giving us the chance to get our message out on live television.
After last night, one thing was made unmistakably clear. There are major policy differences between myself and my Democrat opponent. Here’s a summary of some of the major issue differences that came up yesterday.
Role of Government:
I believe the role of government should be limited and scaled back to reflect the intent of our founding fathers.
My Democrat opponent believes big and intrusive government is a good thing, and that we should embrace a greater governmental role in our daily lives.
Second Amendment:
I believe in the right to keep and bear arms, and for my support of the 2nd Amendment the NRA and Gun Owners of America have endorsed my candidacy.
My opponent supports restricting the 2nd Amendment, and attacked my concealed weapons permit proposal but didn’t even know enough about the issue to know South Carolina’s age requirement for a permit until I corrected her.
Health Care:
I believe that the failed ObamaCare legislation should be repealed and replaced with free market based solutions.
My opponent believes that it’s the government’s role to be in charge of heath care, and does not support repeal. read more »
Hey guys,
As you know all too well, the policies coming out of Washington impact us all. Americans are sick and tired of all the spending, borrowing, bailouts, takeovers and debt that are mortgaging away our children’s future and destroying our way of life.
I’m running for Congress because we need to change the direction our nation is headed, and that change begins with:
· Removing Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House
· Balanced Budget Amendment that prevents out of control spending once and for all
· Term Limits for all elected officials
· No more bail outs
· Extend the Republican tax cuts
· Repealing and Replacing ObamaCare
Hey guys,
Over the last few weeks, individuals from all across the district have been writing positive letters supporting my campaign to be your next Congressman. Below are just a few highlights from the letters published in local newspapers. To read the full letters please visit my website here.
"As a businessman, Jeff has learned to meet a payroll and balance a budget. He understands that there is no free lunch and that America must learn to pay her bills. Jeff has a solid conservative voting record, as evidenced by his endorsement by the Club for Growth. In short, we need Jeff Duncan in Washington."
Bob A.
Tamassee"Let’s elect fiscal conservatives who will break the stranglehold and get people working. We can start by electing business owner and state representative Jeff Duncan, named a “taxpayer hero” every year since 2002, to theU.S. Congress."
Roy B.
Anderson"During my 28 years in public service, I met a variety of officials, from presidents to water commissioners. Jeff is as impressive as anyone I had the pleasure to meet. He will bring a work ethic, a moral compass and real-life experience to a job that needs all of these qualities. I cannot wait to cast my ballot for Jeff on Nov. 2."
(Promoted to front page. Jeff is a great conservative and will be a VERY welcome addition to a Republican caucus that could use more REAL conservatives. If you live in SC-3, I encourage you to support him this fall. If you don't, you can always make a contribution to his campaign! Find him at www.jeffduncan.com)
Hey guys,
Last Friday, I was honored to have earned the endorsement of the National Right To Life organization. In their letter, they noted my continued “commitment to renewing a culture of life” in South Carolina and beyond. I am grateful for their support and I look forward to defending the sanctity of every human life in Congress.
You can view their full endorsement letter below.
Jeff
Dear Jeff DuncanThe National Right to Life Political Action Committee is pleased to endorse you for election to represent South Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
This endorsement reflects your commitment to renewing a culture of life, not only in South Carolina, but throughout the nation and in the U.S. Congress.
Recently Democrats in Congress voted to enact President Obama’s health care legislation, which will provide government funding for health plans that pay for abortion on demand, and promote the rationing of lifesaving medical treatments.
Your support is needed to reverse the pro-abortion and rationing effects of that health care legislation.
You are a strong advocate for life: you support pro-life legislation and you oppose the use of federal funding for elective abortion. We look forward to working with you to restore legal protection for innocent life – unborn children and medically disabled or dependent persons whose lives are threatened by abortion or euthanasia.
Hey guys,
Over the past 16 months, we have worked hard to run a positive campaign based on the issues. This past week, our campaign, joined by local leaders from across the state, held events all over the district to talk about my ideas and my solutions for the challenges facing the families of South Carolina’s Third Congressional District.
Unfortunately, my opponent, Mr. Cash chose to spend his week attacking my integrity and character, misleading the public on my stance on term limits, my career, and about how we’ve funded our campaign. Mr. Cash has made a decision not to talk about his own ideas on how to improve the lives of the people of the Third District, and has instead decided to attack my character. This is truly unfortunate, and an example of everything that is wrong with politics in Washington.
Our elected officials should be held to a higher standard than throwing mud and misinforming the South Carolina people. My proven conservative record is clear, and is verified by my endorsements from the National Rifle Association, the Club for Growth, Conservatives of America, I-Caucus, and conservative activists across the district – many of which Mr. Cash also competed for and lost.
Hey guys,
Since making the runoff 7 days ago our campaign has been picking up support from all across the district. I am happy to share with you the news that a fourth TEA Party organization in the district has endorsed our campaign. The Aiken County TEA Party joins the Aiken TEA Party Express, Aiken "We the People," and the Laurens TEA Party in supporting our campaign to end the "POR" (Pelosi, Obama, Reid) policies we see coming out of Washington.
Other top conservative organizations have also shown their support for my campaign including the Club for Growth, Conservatives of America and the Independent Caucus.
I have also been endorsed by former opponents state Senator Shane Massey, and more recently, Neal Collins. I am grateful for their support and enjoyed getting to know each of them on the campaign trail.
You may have also seen endorsements from district papers including the Edgefield Daily and the Seneca Journal. Support has also come in by way of Letters to the Editor in the Aiken Standard, the Augusta Chronicle, and more. read more »
