What do you get when you put together a man with a microphone who supports Ron Paul and protesters who really do not know what they are protesting against: You get this video, which by the way either will make you laugh, cry, or vomit. While I would agree that Ron Paul may be better than what we have now, that is not the argument for this blog. The video, done by a gentlemen named Adam Kokesh, went around D.C. asking those who were sitting in for the “Occupy Washington” rally what they thought about the economy, the wars, and government control of certain aspects of our lives. What I find the most amusing, even if it does give me pause about the future of this nation, is that most of these individuals are college kids just wanting a free ride.
All they want the government to do is give them something for free, in the name of social justice.
We have heard this phrase before and it is one we must not forget, because it is one that will be used in the ideological battle for the future of this nation. No matter if these young college kids realize it or not, they are advocating the government taking an even bigger role in our lives. They have a lot to complain about but never seem to mention the role government plays in all areas that they complain about. is it not funny, then, when the gentlemen asking the questions points out the government control inside these programs, the students stop on a dime and try to make their statements sound more, may I say, socialistic?
The point that all of these individuals are trying to make, and it is one we have heard many times, is that the government should take a bigger role in our lives and help us when we are down and out. Also, they should help us when we feel like doing nothing, when we do not feel like paying out bills, and when we feel like wasting our lives protesting for an ideal that, realistically, will never make the country better. Those who do well for themselves do it because they have big ideas of their own. Did Bill Gates become rich because he went around to poor people and stole out of their Christmas fund? No, he did not! He got rich because he an idea and he put that idea to work for him. Others in this world wanted the product that he offered, so he raised the price on the products and the people still bought them. If you told these kids that they were supporting these individuals with a lot of money when they bough their smart phones and their computers, they would find a way to beat around the bush, but the fact of the matter is a protest is no good unless you understand the idea you are fighting for. These kids (and I use the terms “kids” for a reason, mind you) want things a certain way, and unless they get it they believe sitting in the rain will help them get it. Unfortunately for them, the majority of people in this country do not agree with their insane view of the world.
What I did find really odd about this video and those protesters that this reporter was talking to was that they seem to be on the side of the President. How can this be when they are fighting against what he has done? Do they believe he would have done more if he was king of the country, or do they believe that he has really done enough not to push the country into a true capitalistic nation? The questions bugs me for a couple of reasons, but mostly because it just does not seem to make a whole lot of sense when you get right down to it. They would not support the impeachment of Barack Obama because of the wars that they are against, but at the same time they are against the wars and the killing of American citizens, even if they are a member of a terror organization. While I will not be getting into that topic here, it does come up in the video and it makes me wonder what these individuals are really protesting. It seems to me they are protesting this Administration while having a small Obama 2012 re-election rally. But that could not be…could it?
I can almost promise all of you out there that these individuals, for the most part, will be out knocking on peoples doors and making phone calls for the President. We can tell from the video that at least a few are trying to do what they can for the President and his re-election, so why go out and protest the man you want to be President? There is a simple answer to this if you think like these people do, and like those who work for the re-election of Barack Obama.
The reason for this is two fold:
1. Go out and protest the way America is, so the President can run on an even more radical platform of going after the rich. This might seem odd, but the President and his staff have to realize they are losing the Wall Street money as it is, but if they can get out the vote of those who have been indoctrinated with the socialistic platform while attending college, then his personal views can be spread without him having to say a word.
2. The change must be made complete, and that is the change the President ran on during his last election. The change that he spoke about what not the change that he delivered, because even many Democrats do not subscribe to his type of thinking. It is not enough to go out and protest the rich, they must protest the President’s policies when telling people that he is the best man to take us down the road to an open socialistic society. They see no other person speaking like he is, so they must fight against the policies while fighting for the man.
Little do they know they sound like little crybabies who had their ball taken away from them at recess because they pushed someone else on the playground. They want everything that the ask for, and if they do not get it they will find someone else to do it for them. They will go out and protest and not even know what they are protesting about. You can be sure of one thing, however: Somewhere in these protests the hand of someone Obama is close to is making these puppets dance, because they know this is the only way to keep their man in office. He cannot win an election, so instead of bowing out of the race he will watch the streets burn first. These are small protests now, but as we have seen in other nations they do get bigger and they can get more violent with the right mix of people.
On Monday I am going to release another blog on this matter, only speaking more toward what these college kids are saying and where they are getting it from. In my first book, Young Conservative: Views of a College Conservative I wrote a lot about what college kids have to deal with and what they will hear when they step into these classrooms. There are some out there that know colleges are bad, but I will give you some examples of what happens, and happened to me, that make these kids afraid of thinking for themselves. It goes to show these protests are not coming from the true social anger of the young people, but the social anger of the elder generation using these students as the puppets.
We can laugh this off if we choice, but we need to do more than just that. This ideology will only get worse as the years go on. If we do not silence this kind of thinking now, we will, without a doubt, lose this nation. There is no question about that. Think of these kids as the baseball team in the minor leagues. They have not graduated to the tactics of the elder generation yet, but when they do there will be hell to pay we do not not show them that their thinking is wrong and where this nation will end up.
