Novak's take on New Hampshire
Novak's been out and about in New Hampshire and makes his predictions for tomorrow's primary as follows:
For the Republicans:
1st Place: McCain, but vulnerable.
2nd Place: Romney, but rallying.
3rd Place: Huckabee.
4th Place: Giuliani.
5th Place: Former Sen. Fred ThompsonFor the Democrats:
1st Place: Obama, going away.
2nd Place: Clinton.
3rd Place: Edwards.
4th Place: New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.
Really hard to say at this point. McCain's little bounce seems to have bumped up against his ceiling...but the question is where do those who abandon him go? And how much impact does Romney's good debate performace last night have, (or have time to have)? We'll see.
In any case, I think whatever the results in either primary, the media's dire predictions about how it's "must win" for anybody, (Democrat or Republican), is way overblown. The fact is that, due to the compressed primary schedule, and that two dozen states will be voting on one day, (February 5th), and that the results on that day are likely to be scattered all across the board, it's pretty much worth it for everyone to "hang in there" until then and see how it turns out. Could be that it's still so unsettled that someone declared "dead" this week gains new life a month from now.
