March To Waterloo.
In any rational political environment, Barack Hussein Obama would be toast. Notice, please, the use of the word ‘rational’.
The left has been on a collision course with all things American since the 1903 Bolshevik revolution, led by Leon Trotsky and Vladimir Lenin, whose political-economic theories formed the basis of what was to become the Communist Party in Russia and the launch of the international Communist Party and its avowed aim of extending its tyrannical and repressive philosophy throughout the globe.
Trotsky and Lenin were political and economic theorists. That their collective ideology caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Russian citizens seems not to have caused them a moment’s pause. Lawlessness, fear and hysteria, generated by ideological zealotry and an inflexible and indiscriminate one-party political authoritarianism, led to poverty and repression that rivaled and exceeded the worst the Tsars could have ever conceived. The people of Russia simply traded one inflexible authoritarian rule for another.
That this pernicious political ideology would clash with the enlightened western democracies was never in doubt. Political and economic subversion were always the preferred method of attack.
America was never fertile ground for the expansion of communism. Given a choice, people invariably choose freedom. Hence, the left has been relegated to using lies, distortion, outright invention and the subversion of the moral fabric of the country. read more »
It Really Is All About Business.
This week we were shy of a couple of key technicians where I work. “So what?”, you say… “we all have to work short handed once in a while”. True, and no argument there. What is different, or more likely in Barack Obama’s America, what has sadly become the norm for many businesses is that we are all operating with reduced staff and management. This, in turn, makes the absence of key personnel felt much more in most organizations.
I just went through a week exactly like this one, hence no articles this week. No excuses, work is work and we’re damned grateful for it. The end results of the various cuts, layoffs, consolidations and downsizing has turned American business into a sort of survivors’ club.
We have been forced to fine tune our operations and hone our procedures to razor sharpness by the maelstrom of a decimated economy and the overbearing hand of a blatantly business-unfriendly statist regime, whose only accomplishment to date seems to be the ability to vomit forth copious volumes of repressive and regressive regulations and onerous enforcement burdens on an already overtaxed and vastly over-regulated private business community.
We have, without a single doubt, the greatest workforce on Earth. Don’t buy the bull bleep that America has seen its better days… get out of our way! That’s all… that’s all it would take to end this depression. Yeah, folks… zero job growth, in a now-continuous four year economic train wreck that is the Barack Hussein Obama government and its disastrous policies, qualifies as a depression. read more »
Big Government in the Age of the i-Pod
As every element of modern life moves towards more customization and individual empowerment, government stands alone as the only major entity moving in the opposite direction. And liberals, (i.e., Democrats and some Republicans), are its only salesmen.
Innovation and new technologies have led to increasingly rapid advances in products and services that are centered around consumers and their personal preferences. These changes in turn have upended existing industries and business models and created new ones, the result being that many of today’s biggest and most innovative companies or services, (such as Facebook, Google, i-Tunes, YouTube, etc.), didn’t even exist (or just barely) when the War on Terror began in 2001.
Computers continue to get better, smaller, faster and cheaper, with multitudes of customizable options. Phones have evolved into a combination of phone, stereo, camera, camcorder, TV and hand-held computer – all at a fraction of what only one of those individual devices used to cost, much less all of them.
The winner in this sea change is of course the consumer, who gains access to more choice and better quality at a lower cost.
But then there’s government, which continues to become more expensive, bloated and uniform, rather than innovative, primarily because it has what it doesn’t allow businesses to have: a monopoly.
Granted, there are many things that, due to finances, can’t be customized for everyone. Roads come to mind, (despite the delusions of some drivers). But the point is that choice benefits consumers and weakens any monopoly. If your services are no longer the only game in town, and if people don’t need what you’re selling, then they don’t need you – which is why government tends to outlaw its competition. read more »
Goshen College pacifists: taking the moral low road
“Given the choice between peace and righteousness, I choose righteousness.” –Teddy Roosevelt
The Mennonites at Goshen College in Indiana are dead wrong.
This place of higher learning has banned the playing of our National Anthem (substituting it for America the Beautiful) before all sporting events, citing their “pacifist” and “religious” tradition.
This is America, and a college will no longer play the National Anthem. George Washington and Paul Revere are weeping in their graves.
People who hide behind the veil of pacifism have no regard or respect for the freedom we enjoy and cherish in this country. They decry war under any circumstance, no matter how worthy or just. They are the people who say “can’t we all just get along” and opine about world peace while terrorists are abusing women and murdering innocent civilians, even in our homeland.
I am no fan of war. I abhor it and believe it is an awful and appalling way to resolve problems. That does not, however, mean that it is not sometimes necessary and required to restore peace, order, and freedom. The desire for world peace is admirable, but it is a pipe dream. Anyone wishes to watch and do nothing as evil runs rampant through our country and our world.
I would gladly support a “no war” policy, right after the terrorists and tyrants forever stop being terrorists and tyrants.
For the sake of our own blessed nation, as well as the millions of innocent people all around the world liberated and given a chance at life because of the United States of America, thank God our country is not militarily pacifistic. read more »
Jerry Brown… Such A Clown, That Jerry Brown.
Another week of long days and longer nights. That’s okay by me, beats the hell out of not working. Makes it a little hard to write, though. First and foremost, our wishes and prayers go out to the folks on the east coast who find themselves in the path of Hurricane Irene. For heaven’s sake, if you’re in a position to get out, leave. I was in two typhoons when in the Pacific and south-east Asia with the Marines. I know that sinking feeling of realizing that you’re in the path of one of these monsters.
I wrote that last night just before I got called out again. The nation’s attention is rightly focused on the developing situation around Hurricane Irene. Maybe not with the punch the first worst-case scenarios forecast along with various exotic computer models, but still plenty dangerous and with the potential to cause immense damage.
Meanwhile, out here on the left armpit of the nation, it’s tough to say what came first, the chicken or the egg. Is Barack Hussein Obama modeling his brilliant economic strategy on our equally brilliant Jerry Brown, or is it the other way around? Sure looks to me as though they went to the same school of economics. Jerry Brown heads a state with an out-of-control bureaucracy with a radicalized legislature owned lock, stock and barrel by the environmentalists and the unions.
What Obama Could Have Done
Liberal hack and annoying twerp Ezra Klein recently posted a lament for the president’s waning popularity titled “What could Obama have done?”
Klein’s query is just an updated iteration of an eternal, intractable, metaphysical question for the left: How can Democrats govern like liberals for any extended period of time and generate good results so they can maintain their favorable ratings?
To conservatives (and Bill Clinton), the answer is obvious: You can’t. Liberal policies don’t work. Any goodwill remaining toward you from your base for remaining stubborn ideologues in the face of contrary evidence is overshadowed by widespread revulsion toward the disastrous consequences of your policies.
In other words: Conservatives are never going to like you, a few crazy liberals always will, but a large number of independents, moderates, and center-left voters will abandon you if you don’t give up on your leftist policies after the public realizes you are not a magician.
Since Klein asked, here’s what Obama could have done to enjoy a successful presidency and retain the sky-high favorability ratings he held in those blissful few minutes after he was sworn in before the trouble began.
Let’s start with the good news—things Obama did and should have done (hurry back from the fridge, right-wingers; this won’t take long!): read more »
A letter to Ella Anne pt.2: Happy 1st. Birthday
Your first year of life, unfortunately it’s under Marxist Socialist Rule:
Your first year of life, unfortunately it’s under Marxist Socialist Rule:
Well it’s been a very special year this your first year of life as my granddaughter and a citizen of the United Socialist States America! The Marxist socialist ruler who is playing president to the camera, has behind our backs continued to destroy this Republic and its freedoms with illegal regulations and usurpations of the law. In just the month before your 1 year birthday he passed 607 federal regulations and added $28,400 to your future debt. (I am so sorry you will be paying a bill you do not deserve to pay)
The bullies have made it clear Ella that they are not going to give up everything they have lied, cheated and stolen easily. They have 144 years invested in their war to take over this Republic and destroy its rule of law. They have turned the main sewer media loose on any and all that do not lock step with their socialist manifesto. They call citizen Patriots like your grandpa, terrorist’s and question the very core beliefs of the majority of the people because they are nothing more than the gutless cowards all bullies are. When you were born 1 year ago I wrote you about these bullies and how to handle them. We started to fight them and then the people we chose to represent us in that fight became bullies (COWARDS) themselves. They chose to avoid their principles and more importantly their word of honor with the people who put them there when the bullies started calling them names and telling lies about them. It was easier for them to quit when it got hard rather than to chose not to. read more »
Hey Hey! Ho Ho! The EPA Has Got To Go!
There are a staggering number of pressing and urgent issues facing the Tea Party patriot movement. Our Republic is beset on all sides, from within as well as without. That some of the enemies within are either in sympathy with, or in direct support of, some of the enemy without should surprise no one.
If you look back, the same was true during the war in Vietnam. That many of the people who have sworn to serve us have gone over to the ‘darkside’ is not in question… many of these 1960s burnout politicians couldn’t find a living wage if they weren’t sucking at the public teat.
Obama’s policies are diametrically opposed to the growth of business or jobs… no matter his blather about a ‘big’ new jobs bill. It’s going to be the infrastructure, bridge and highway jobs programs all over again.
It’s no secret that America has fallen out of love with the Anointed One and his insanely irresponsible governance. If the election were held today, he and the entire DeMarxist cabal would be out on their tushies… and they know it.
Barack Hussein Obama is as inflexible an idealogue as ever there was. He is advancing his Marxist goals as fast as he can. He couldn’t get cap and tax through the Congress, thanks to a great goal-line stand by vastly outnumbered Republicans and a roar of outrage from the public, led by the Tea Party patriots. read more »
Outrage! Obama’s Latest Perfidy.
On December 18th 2010, Congress voted down the Dream Act. Last week, just before leaving on his multi-million dollar vacation to Martha’s Vineyard, Obama once again trampled on the rule of law and the expressed will of the American people. I wonder if he took his sixty-car caravan and the two Darth Vader buses from Canada with him.
For someone whose public position has consistently placed him in opposition to those ‘millionaires’ and ‘billionaires’, from whom he would wish to extract every last dime if he could, Barack Obama, whose every waking moment is spent trying to scheme new ways to separate the ‘evil’ rich from their money, is spending two weeks hobnobbing with some of the richest lefties on the planet. On your dime, of course.
Our young dictator thinks so much of himself that he has ordered implementation of the Dream Act by executive order. Notice that he signed it at night, on a Friday, just before he slunk out of town.
This is an illegal and unconstitutional usurpation of the authority of Congress… and the expressed will of the people of the United States of America through their elected representatives.
This president, and his totally Marxist-dominated Congress, ran roughshod over America virtually at will for two years. That they were slowed at all in their headlong rush to drive the country to insolvency was due to the steadfast resistance of the ‘new’ Republican party… the Tea Party Patriots that are rocking America’s political landscape. read more »
Harry Reid – Fertile Imagination.
Not that our Harry has a penchant for fanciful tales, you understand… but poor Harry hasn’t had much to crow about recently. Not to worry, though… he has assured his Marxist cohorts that it’s all over for the Tea Party. That’s it, we shot our bolt and now we’re all going to go home and sing campfire songs, while gazing rapturously at pictures of the Anointed One.
Good for you, Harry! The Tea Party Patriots are properly chastised and we’ll be sure to disband forthwith. The problem, Mr. Reid, is that The American Patriot movement is not, nor will it ever be, a political party. The Tea Party, Harry, is Earth, Wind, Fire and Water… we are the distilled essence of the traditions of the Founders. We carry before us the banners of the two greatest documents ever written, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America.
That’s why the DeMarxists are working so very hard to portray the Patriot Movement as being spent and politically irrelevant. Terror… We, my friends, are the terrorists, because that’s what we do… we scare them right to the core of their shriveled beings. We’re like their worst nightmare.
They can attack us, okay. They can tell lies about us and they can have the statist press dutifully vomit the regime’s published bull bleep points… all to naught. Let’s just say that we’re a moving target that they just can’t seem to focus on. read more »
