Red, White and Blue, or Black and Red.....
One day until government shutdown. The one week continuing resolution expires tomorrow, and there is still no signed FY 2011 budget on the table, could be an interesting turn of events, with the new numbers that are arising, that it isn't 38.5 Billion in spending cuts, but just over 350 Million.
As usual, instead of taking the leading role, our “Campainger-in Chief”, waited to see what the reactions of the American people were going to be before exposing his latest flip, or are we on flop, too confusing to keep up because it seems to be happening daily.
Is he leading our country or running for re-election. Is he serious about our financial crisis, or just playing the manipulation of words game to make us think we are hearing what we want to hear.
I didn't hear what I wanted to hear.....
One of the Presidents answers is to raise taxes on the wealthy. I will agree that some of the loopholes in the tax code do indeed need to be removed, but raising taxes on the top 1%, who spend 33% (I think) of non discretionary dollars in our economy is not very red, white, and blue. I hate to tell the POTUS, that it is these people that are creating jobs, and putting money into the economy to try to make it grow, they are the ones investing in America to attempt to get the economy back in the black, instead of wallowing in the red that our oversized government seems to want to keep it in.
Scare tactics....
About as unred, unwhite, and unblue as it gets. You obviously know nothing about children with disabilities, or children in general. Children need 24 hour care, whether they have a disability or not. Parents of children with disabilities are a resilient bunch, and their kids come first, whether it comes from the parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, friends, cousins, teachers, or the government, don't try to say that these kids are not going to get what they need. I will use one of Sarah Palin's famous quotes “Momma Grizzlies” when it comes to their kids. Don't use kid's with disabilities as a crutch on your campaign trail, tick off a bunch of parents with kid's that have disabilities and you elude that they are not cared for by them, and you think you have to worry about the Tea Party Movement.
And lets not forget about the elderly, a growing population, that aren't going to be able to go to nursing homes. We have a healthier aging population than ever before, that a majority of elderly that needed nursing homes in the past, are not in that situation today because they are healthier, more active, and are staying at home, or with family and retirement communities. Leading us to believe that they are going to starve, not have a bed, and pretty much be left homeless, again our President is out of touch, with Nancy Pelosi carrying the torch, not the flag.
The “New” FY 2012 budget speech talked all about cutting the deficit, didn't say anything too much about spending CUTS, smaller government, but did make sure to state that these would be 2014 initiatives, after the 2012 Presidential election, oh yeah, campaigning again.
In order to save our RED, WHITE, and BLUE, serious cuts need to be made by our elected in Washington. America cannot run in the red, and continue to borrow to pay interest on money that is already borrowed, it doesn't work, and on this path of destruction, we can kiss our liberties and freedom goodbye, because we are going to be financially owned by someone else, and bankrupt, and the decisions are no longer going to be ours to make. As Ronald Reagan said “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction”
