Judge: Detroit Mayor may go to conventionA judge ruled Thursday that Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will no longer have to wear a tether that had been ordered as part of his bond in his perjury case and may travel to the Democratic National Convention in Denver, where he is a superdelegate.
Kilpatrick and his former top aide were in Wayne County Circuit Court for an arraignment on perjury and other charges stemming from a text-messaging sex scandal. Not guilty pleas were entered on their behalf...

non-discrimination policy
You know the Dems have a non-discrimination policy when it comes to adulterers and accused felons.
The Policy
This policy is the Democrats' new version of affirmative action. In addition to Kwame Kilpatrick and John Edwards, recipients include: Bill Clinton, Elliot Spitzer, Jesse Jackson, William "Cold Cash" Jefferson, Barney "Boy do I have a boy for you" Frank, Edward "life guard" Kennedy, "Hanoi John" Kerry, and a host of other luminaries too numerous to list. This policy certainly provides opportunities for the best and the brightest to "be all that they can be" in the Democratic party!

Kwame Kilpatrick was a featured speaker at the Dem's National Convention back in 2004. Wonder if he'll move up in the ranks to be a principle speaker for this year?
While that may be a joke, the scary thing is that up until a week or so ago John Edwards was all but guaranteed a principle speaker spot one of the nights of the convention. If not the VP slot itself!
