Has The Long Time Socialization Of America Finally Taken Its Toll?

Wall Street Protests Turn Larger, Threats Made to NYSE

It seems what I hoped, and many others hoped, would not happen is actually happening. I hoped to see an end to these protests before they got larger and, sooner or later, violent, but I am not sure that is going to happen. What we have seen in London and Greece is on our doorstep, and we must now deal with the reality that America, once and for all, is a nation of individuals who will look to their government to save them before they look at themselves for help. While I still do not believe those who are protesting represent the majority of this nation, what they do represent is the largest group getting the attention of the media. This is because the media sympathizes with their fight, and they would like nothing more than to see New York City overrun by young, confused people who are being led by the radical left of the Democratic Party.

We know where this movement is coming from, it is not hard to see. Look at the demands that are being publicized by those who are out in force with this movement. There are demands that the far left has been looking for now for almost a century, and now they see their work in the indoctrination of the youth finally coming to fruition. It pains me to say that we, the other side of the fight, will not stand at the other side of the street and tell these people that capitalism is not the problem, the leadership is the problem. This is America, and we have the ability and the right to go out and be the best person, citizen, or even businesses man if the choose that we can be. It is not up to the government to bail people out just because you believe people are making more money than you are. This is not the governments place. The governments place is in protesting the citizens of this nation from outside threats, something that this crowd also does not seem to happy with at this time. Everything that America is supposed to be this crowd is against. How can we say this crowd is American when they trample on capitalism, the economic driver that help build this nation through the decades?

Those who are the loudest have their voices heard before the quiet, and in this case we are the ones who are not speaking up loud enough. I know there are some on my side who believe this will blow over, but do not be so sure of that so quickly. I also thought at the beginning of this that it would have been over by now, but what we have seen is an escalation of people and their feelings against private industry and the way people make their money. Many of these people leave their jobs to come protest the same companies they work for, which leaves me to ask why some could be so hypocritical in their view of the world? Is it not right to stand your ground when you believe you have a point? Those who are doing this are the ones that will make sure this movement does not go anyway anytime soon, but it is the rest of the crowd that bothers me like crazy.

The rest of the crowd is made up of radical left professors, college students who have bought into the indoctrination, radicals who we have not heard from in this manner for many decades, and those down on their luck looking for more help. The people who are down are being used by the greater radical left to advance an agenda I believe many of them do not agree with, but if it will help them and their families they will fight for it.

This next election, more than any other, may not just be about the economy and war, but more about what kind of government we move forward with. Are we going to give in to the calls to allow the government to do as they please, or will we stand up and take care of our own in our own hometowns so they do not go hungry at night. I see a lot of people protesting for what they might call the greater good, but people in their communities are still going to bed hungry while they scream at Wall Street to give up their money to the people. How is that going to put food in the stomachs of the poor, I ask you?

I want to ask if the long time socialization of America, something we have seen for many decades now, finally taken its toll on the people? Have many just given up because they see there is no other way to stay alive than to run to the government for help? It seems to me we are living in amazing times. Times that we have seen from historical records where peoples and societies turn to their government when their government has nothing to offer. We see this all over the world, and we ask ourselves is it nearing the time when the majority gives up and turns to their government for everything? Have we given up the fight so soon that we will allow the radical left wing in this nation to press their agenda onto the rest of us?

I grew up thinking America was the land where people came when they could not find opportunity in their own lands, could not find religious freedom, and wanted to make something better of not only their lives bu the future generations in their family. I grew up believing that as long as you tried your heart out that you could be anything that you wanted and do what you wanted to make yourself into the next big thing. I grew up acknowledging that while it is not easy to do these things, those before us did them and if they could, we could as well. Sadly, when I look at the “Occupy” rallies and protests around this nation and see more and more people protesting for more government help, I do not see that same strong fight and the will that I thought America had when I was growing up. What I see today are kids of all ages waiting for the government to take from the rich and give to the poor. If that is the America the rest of you want, then you can have this America, I do not want it!
